Above all, the right osteopath should be able to tailor a personalised treatment plan for you, based on your injuries, concerns, and unique situation. At Pakenham Osteopathy, we do all of the above plus so much more. We make sure you feel right at ease from the moment you step into our clinic, and ensure all your questions and worries are

For your first consultation, you should bring any x-rays, reports and test results that you believe would be relevant to your practitioner or osteopath in diagnosing your complaint. But if you forget, don’t worry. We can always review these at a later date. Just let your osteopath know.

Naturally, it’s important to wear clothes that you’re comfortable in. However, you may be asked to take certain items of clothing off (e.g. tops or pants) to make it easier for the osteopath to assess your complaint. If you are uncomfortable with removing any item, we can always work around this.

All our osteopaths are properly trained and qualified to assess your needs as they have completed and acquired their Masters of Health Science (Osteopathy). They’ve also helped many locals Beaconsfield as we have been operating for over 15 years.  Collectively we have around 50 years of clinic experience.

Everybody is different, which means the frequency of your sessions and recommended treatment plan will differ too. At Pakenham Osteopathy, on the very first consultation our friendly osteopaths will be able to outline how often you should come in for your treatment sessions. Sometimes you may need to see your osteopath twice weekly for acute conditions, or just a few visits for low grade injuries – it really depends on your symptoms and how frequently they need to be monitored.

You may be required to rest for a few days after treatment if you’re sore. Your osteopath will advise you whether you need to take it easy or Your osteopath will also advise you about returning to work, sport or daily activities.

Osteopathy relies on treating your muscles and joints through manual , hands on techniques like massage, joint articulation, mobilisation and stretching to name just a few. These allow your body to heal rapidly without you having to rely on medication.

Whilst some patients may experience relief as soon as your first session with the osteopath, others may experience soreness for a couple of days after the first appointment. It depends on your body, which is why we tailor our sessions according to your specific needs and concerns.

When delivered properly, osteopathy should alleviate and not worsen your condition. This is why it’s incredibly important to get osteopathy treatment from reliable, credible, and professional osteopaths. At Pakenham Osteopathy, we are sure you’ll experience a high level of client care and treatment all throughout your consultations and sessions.

Osteopathy addresses injuries and discomfort throughout the whole body as opposed to one area like in physiotherapy, however both can work well hand in hand to provide better and more effective results.

Whilst we wouldn’t recommend smashing out a gym session or pounding the pavement for hours, we believe that movement is a great way for the body to recover.  This could include a light swim or an easy paced walk.  We may also recommend specific exercises or stretches depending on your complaint.
