Exercise Physiology has a long and interesting history that can be traced back to ancient cultures, across many continents starting with Hippocrates (370-460BC) who advocated moderate exercise to improve and maintain health.

What to expect at your first visit


It’s understandable to be a little nervous if it’s your first encounter with Exercise Physiology, especially if you don’t know what to expect. And if your pain is injury related, it’s normal to be a little apprehensive when starting up fitness related activities again.


We can assure you that your first appointment won’t consist of army style routines with a stern sergeant screaming abuse for motivation! Jaime conducts individual sessions and designs exercise programs to suit each person, her gentle encouragement – perhaps attributed to her study and teaching of Pilates – will put you at ease straight away. You can view available classes here.


Your initial consultation will include a basic assessment of your condition and exercise tolerance.


And as well as exploring your past exercise programs and results, we’ll discuss your current lifestyle, what changes you wish to make and what goals you want to achieve. We’ll also take a range of physical measurements, which may include height, weight, blood pressure, flexibility and strength testing.
